
Management of Pediatric Spasticity: The Holistic Treatment of Children with Cerebral Palsy
DESCRIPTION
This course will review the epidemiology and risk factors for cerebral palsy (CP) including a review of primary and secondary conditions, the pathophysiology of spasticity and comprehensive management including medications, surgical options and common occupational and physical modalities used in the integrated management of spasticity in children with cerebral palsy.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the pathophysiology of spasticity and identify the clinical scales used in describing and measuring spasticity
- Describe the common prevention and treatment strategies for managing spasticity in children with CP
- Summarize what is known about the impact of spasticity on the rehabilitation and how this impacts growth and development in children
